How to Turn Study Notes Into a Video
Notes to video AI, step by step. Export your study notes to PDF, upload them, and get a short revision video. Steer lines for students and teachers.
To turn study notes into a video, export the notes to PDF first. Then upload that PDF to a PDF to video AI, pick Summarize, set a length, and generate. AITuber reads the notes, writes a script, and builds a narrated revision video with visuals and captions. It takes a PDF or a public link, so a Notion page or a Google Doc has to become a PDF before you start.
Key takeaways
| Question | Short answer |
|---|---|
| What is notes to video AI? | A tool that reads your notes and makes a short narrated video from them |
| What do I upload? | A PDF of the notes, up to 25 MB |
| Do typed notes work? | Yes. Typed notes with headings work best |
| Do handwritten notes work? | Clean scans can, through OCR. Messy phone photos often fail |
| How much should one video cover? | One topic. A whole module in one video goes badly |
| Will my pages appear on screen? | No. The video is about the ideas, with its own visuals |
Get your notes into a PDF
Each app hides the export in a different menu. These are the usual routes.
- Google Docs: open File, choose Download, then PDF Document.
- Notion: open the menu at the top right of the page, choose Export, and pick PDF.
- OneNote: use Export or Print and choose PDF. The menu name changes between the Windows, Mac, and web versions.
- GoodNotes: use Export on the page or the notebook and pick PDF.
Export one topic at a time. A PDF of “Photosynthesis” makes a better video than a PDF of “Biology, term one.”
Typed notes export with a text layer, so AITuber reads them directly. Check it by trying to select a sentence in the PDF with your cursor. If the words highlight, you are set.
Handwritten notes and OCR
Handwriting has no text layer. The PDF is a picture of your page, and AITuber runs OCR to recover the words before it writes a script.
OCR reads neat writing on a flat, bright scan. It struggles with a phone photo taken at an angle, with shadows, or with writing that even you find hard to read. Diagrams and arrows do not come through as ideas at all.
We wouldn’t trust a messy page to OCR. For anything important, type a half-page summary of the handwritten notes and upload that. It takes ten minutes, and typing it out is revision in its own right.
What kind of notes make a good video
Notes are written for you, and that causes most bad first drafts. They are full of short forms, half sentences, and “see p. 42.” The script can only work with what is on the page.
Spend five minutes on the PDF before you upload it.
- Spell out the short forms. Write “mitochondria” where the notes say “mito.”
- Delete to-do lines, dates, and page references.
- Put one heading above each idea.
- Turn any key diagram into two plain sentences.
- Cut the file down to one topic.
Bullet notes work well, because each bullet is already one idea. Long copied passages from a textbook work worse. The tool will summarize the textbook’s words, and you learn less from that than from your own.
Worked example: one chapter of notes
Say you have four typed pages on photosynthesis from a biology course, written in Google Docs. You want a 60-second video to watch on the bus before a test.
Download the doc as a PDF. Upload it to AITuber and choose Summarize it, since four pages hold far more than a minute of speech. Set the length to 60 seconds, which is about 140 spoken words. Pick 9:16 if you’ll watch on a phone.
Then write one line in the notes field:
Cover the light stage and the dark stage only. Explain like I am new to this. End with three quick questions.
Pick a clear voice and a simple visual style, then generate. Watch the result against your notes. If the script says something your notes don’t, fix that line or fix your notes. One of them is wrong, and you want to know which before the test.
We’ve kept this short on purpose. Our guide on how to turn a PDF into a video covers every setting in order, with fixes for a weak first draft.
Steer lines that help revision
The notes field takes one plain sentence, and it changes the script more than any other setting. These are the lines we’d reach for.
| You want | Write this |
|---|---|
| A self-test | ”Quiz me at the end with three questions.” |
| A simpler version | ”Explain like I am new to this.” |
| One part only | ”Cover section two only. Skip the rest.” |
| Key terms | ”Define each key term in one sentence.” |
| A memory hook | ”Give one everyday example for each idea.” |
| Exam focus | ”Say what an exam question on this might ask.” |
Use one or two lines per video. Six at once pull the script in six directions.
A quiz ending is the one we like most. The video asks, you pause, you answer out loud, and you play on. A video you only watch is easy to forget.
We won’t claim a video will raise your grade. No study we could cite backs that for this tool, and it would be dishonest to say so. A short video is one more way to go over the material, next to practice questions and past papers.
One topic per video
A whole module in one video fails for a simple reason. Sixty seconds holds three or four points. Feed it forty pages and the script has to drop almost everything, and it decides what to drop.
Split the module into topics and make one video for each. Ten one-minute videos give you a playlist to work through. Each one can end with its own quiz.
Longer videos are possible, up to 20 minutes. We’d still go short for revision, because a one-minute video gets watched again and a 15-minute one rarely does.
Teachers: one video per lesson
The same steps work from the other side of the desk. A teacher’s lesson notes or a handout, saved as a PDF, become a short recap for the class.
Make one video per lesson and keep the same voice and style all term, so the set feels like one course. A steer such as “write for 12-year-olds” or “open with a question” sets the level. For videos that start from a topic, with no notes at all, the AI educational video maker is the better starting point.
Three checks before you share one with a class:
- Watch all of it. You are responsible for what it says.
- Check every fact and number against your notes.
- Use your own material. A scanned textbook chapter is someone else’s copyright.
A class page or a lesson plan that sits on a public web page needs no PDF. Paste the link. The document to video AI page compares the file route and the link route.
What it costs
A 30-second Short with AI images costs about 35 credits on AITuber. New accounts get 100 free credits with no card, which covers two of those. The AITuber Creator plan is $39 a month for 2,500 credits, or about 71 thirty-second Shorts. Longer videos and higher image tiers cost more. Live prices are on the pricing page.
Educational videos made with AITuber
Narrated explainers from the public AITuber catalog. A video from your notes uses the same script, voice, visuals, and captions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Basics
What is notes to video AI?
Notes to video AI is a tool that reads your notes and makes a narrated video from them. AITuber does this from a PDF. It writes a script, adds visuals and a voice, and burns in captions.
How do I turn my notes into a video?
Export the notes to PDF, upload the PDF, pick Summarize, set a length, and generate. Add one line to steer the script, such as “quiz me at the end.”
Can I upload a Word or PowerPoint file?
No. The upload takes PDF only. Export the file to PDF first from the File menu.
Notes and formats
Does it work with handwritten notes?
It can. AITuber runs OCR on scanned pages. Neat writing on a clean, flat scan reads well. Messy writing or an angled phone photo often fails, so type a short summary for those.
Can I use notes from Notion or Google Docs?
Yes, after you export them to PDF. In Google Docs, use File, Download, PDF Document. In Notion, use Export and pick PDF.
Will the video show my notes on screen?
No. AITuber makes a video about the ideas in your notes and draws its own visuals. Your pages do not appear.
How long can the video be?
Any length from 15 seconds to 20 minutes. For revision we’d keep each video near one minute and make one per topic.
Study and teaching
Is the video accurate?
It follows your notes, but a summary can round a number or drop a detail. Check the script against your notes before you rely on it.
Can teachers use this for lessons?
Yes. Save the lesson notes or handout as a PDF and make one short recap per lesson. Watch the whole video and check the facts before sharing it.
Is there an AI study video generator that is free to try?
AITuber gives 100 free credits at signup with no card. That covers about two 30-second Shorts with AI images.
